Renewal of Funds for the Language Portal of Canada through the Roadmap for Canada's Official Languages 2013-2018
April 2013
The Department of Canadian Heritage has announced funding for the new Roadmap for Canada's Official Languages 2013-2018. Under this funding, Public Works and Government Services Canada will receive a total of $16M for the Language Portal of Canada.
The Language Portal of Canada is a multi-faceted website that showcases Canadian expertise in the area of language. It provides Canadians with free, one-stop access to a wide range of language tools, including TERMIUM Plus®—the Government of Canada's terminology and linguistic data bank. Users can also consult various writing tools, articles on language problems and numerous other online Canadian resources.
Bilingualism is an important part of our identity as Canadians. The Language Portal reflects the government's commitment to support our country's cultural vitality by increasing Canadians' knowledge of both official languages.
