Adding new employees to the pay system
When a new employee is hired, human resources personnel are responsible for collecting and sending all required documentation to the Public Service Pay Centre: Mail Facility. In addition, human resources personnel are responsible for creating the new employee record in PeopleSoft.
Hiring documentation
- Submit a pay action request
- Letter of offer and acceptance
- Including part-time work schedule, if applicable
- Signed oath or affirmation (form GC-29)
- Applicable only to those employed under the Public Service Employment Act
- Personal Record Identifier information
- For employees without an existing Personal Record Identifier only
Employee information (in the employee questionnaire or equivalent)
- Initials
- Surname
- Official name
- Social insurance number
- Date of birth
- Marital status
- Sex
- Language preference
- First official language code
- Emergency contact
- Mailing address
- Telephone number
- Previous service in the public service
- Signature, dated
- Direct deposit banking details
- Direct deposit is mandatory to initiate pay
PeopleSoft information
- Employee contact information
- Personal Record Identifier
- If made aware of an existing Personal Record Identifier, input it into PeopleSoft
