Colloque francophone sur les sondages

Québec city, 24th to 27th of May 2005

For the first time in North America, the Colloque francophone sur les sondages, a scientific meeting of the Société Française de Statistique, will take place at the Université Laval campus in Québec city. This fourth edition of the Colloque, which will take place from the 24 th to the 27 th of May 2005, will focus on the theory and practice of survey sampling. It will provide a forum of exchange for European and North American scientists involved with the conduct of surveys and the analysis of their results.

The Colloque is organized by the Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) and by the Université Laval, in association with Statistics Canada, the Association des statisticiennes et statisticiens du Québec, the Statistical Society of Canada, the Centre de recherches mathématiques of the Université de Montréal and the International Association of Survey Statisticians of the International Statistical Institute. Louise Bourque of the ISQ is chair of the local organising committee while Louis-Paul Rivest of the Université Laval is the program chair.

Plenary conferences will be given by Gordon Brackstone (Statistics Canada) and by Michel Glaude (Eurostat). The program will also feature several invited speakers. Workshops will take place on Tuesday May the 24th; the Colloque itself will start on the 25 th of May.
