Provincial and territorial economic accounts, 2008 
Real gross domestic product (GDP) grew in five provinces led by Saskatchewan with growth of 4.4%. GDP in Yukon and Nunavut also advanced. Declining export demand contributed to lower GDP in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and Northwest Territories. Nationally, GDP rose 0.5% in 2008 following a 2.7% increase in 2007.

Principal field crops, March 2009 
Prairie farmers anticipate increases in acreage planted to dry field peas this spring, well above 2008 levels. Increases are also expected for barley and spring wheat, while the canola area is expected to decline.

Study: Hours and earnings of dual-earner couples, 1997 to 2008
The relative contributions of wives and husbands to paid work hours and earnings have become closer over the past 12 years. Wives now work longer hours at their paid jobs and they earn more than in the past.

Retail trade, February 2009
Retail sales edged up 0.2% in February to $33.7 billion (in current dollars). This comes after large declines in retail sales in November and December, followed by a partial recovery in January. February's slight increase was price-driven, as sales were down 0.3% in volume terms.

National Graduates Survey, 2007
More than 80% of college and university students who graduated in 2005 and did not pursue further studies had found full-time employment by 2007. In general, earnings increased by level of study. In 2007, two years after graduation, just over one-quarter of those who owed student debt at the time they graduated had paid it off.

Wholesale trade, February 2009
Wholesale sales fell 0.6% to $41.0 billion in current dollars in February. Declining sales in the machinery and equipment trade group and the "other products" sector were major factors contributing to this decrease. In terms of the volume of sales, wholesale sales were flat.

Police-reported Crime Severity Index, 1998 to 2007
According to the new Police-reported Crime Severity Index, police-reported crime in Canada in 2007 was less serious overall than 10 years earlier. The traditional Police-reported Crime Rate, which tracks the volume of police-reported crime, also dropped over the 10 years, but to a lesser degree. However, the seriousness of police-reported violent crime did not follow this downward trend and remained stable.

Canada's international transactions in securities, February 2009
Foreign investors added $6.1 billion of Canadian securities to their portfolios in February, while Canadian investors acquired $2.9 billion of foreign securities. This activity in investment took place as government borrowing in Canada and in the United States increased and global equity prices declined.

Control and sale of alcoholic beverages, for the year ending March 31, 2008
Beer and liquor stores and agencies sold $18.8 billion worth of alcoholic beverages during the year ending March 31, 2008, up 4.3% from the previous year.

Consumer Price Index, March 2009
Consumer prices rose 1.2% in the 12 months to March 2009, down from the 1.4% increase in February. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.3% from February to March.
