Published in French under the title Augustine (Toronto: Éditions Scholastic, 2006)

Augustine, the penguin, was named after the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir. She and her family are moving from the South Pole to the North Pole. She is shy and worries about making friends at her new school. But when Augustine shares her artwork with her classmates, she breaks the ice and quickly makes new friends.

The author's acrylic and pencil crayon illustrations are vibrant and colourful. The book layout is original: nine small illustrations in squares fill the left-hand pages and one picture accompanies the text on the right. The story is not only a comforting tale about moving, but it also introduces children to art.
