After a heavy overnight snowfall in Sudbury, the northern Ontario mining town is left completely blanketed in white. Despite the beauty of the winter morning, John is sad; in just a few hours he will be leaving his hometown. His parents have divorced, and he and his mother are moving away to start a new life elsewhere. Making the best of the hours he has left, John ventures out one last time into the snow-covered streets to say goodbye to his friends. The story is filled with tender nostalgia, in which memories fade silently into the frozen landscapes of the North. Renné Benoit's watercolours capture this bygone world with great sensitivity.
