Instructions for downloading and decompressing files
Warning! These files can only be viewed (and therefore used) after being decompressed!
Downloading files
If you are having difficulty downloading, try holding down the "Shift" key while selecting the version for download.
Decompressing files from within Windows
Note: All compressed files have an .exe extension (i.e. filename.exe)
- once you have downloaded the compressed file go to the Windows' PROGRAM MANAGER and double click on FILE MANAGER
- open the directory where the downloaded, compressed file is located
- double click on the compressed (.exe) file (i.e. filename.exe)
- double clicking on the compressed file will cause it to decompress. The decompressed file will have a .doc extension for Microsoft Word 6.0 or a .rtf for Rich Text Format, which can be brought in any Windows application.
Decompressing files from the DOS prompt
- once you have downloaded the compressed file, go to the DOS prompt (i.e. C:\)
- change directory (CD) to the subdirectory where the compressed file is located (i.e. cd C:\ subdirectory)
- Enter the filename of the compressed (.exe) file (e.g. filename.exe)
- entering the file name of the compressed file will cause it to decompress. The decompressed file will have a .doc extension for Microsoft Word 6.0 or a .rtf for Rich Text Format, which can be brought in any Windows application.
