DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT: Confederation Centre of the Arts, Canada's National Memorial to Confederation, was founded to celebrate, through heritage and the arts, the origins and evolution of Canada as a nation.

Part of a Senior Management team responsible to the Centre's Executive Director, the Director of Marketing and Development performs a vital role in the achievement of the Centre's unique and challenging mandate.

A not-for-profit organization, the Confederation Centre houses the largest public art gallery and museum in eastern Canada, is home to the world-renowed Charlottetown Festival, offers a Choral Music Programme for both children and adults, is one of the largest convention and meeting facilities on P.E.I., and presents a vast array of additional programming throughtout the year in its many venues.

QUALIFICATIONS: Proven track record in marketing and development in the arts and tourism field nationally and internationally; ability to develop and implement strategic plans for both marketing and development functions; knowledgeable in areas of publicity, fund-raising, in-house publication preparation, direct marketing, market research, tourism marketing; experience working with federal/provincial/municipal government officials, primarily in the area of tourism; solid experience in Departmental budgeting; demonstrated experience in membership sponsorship and foundations fund-raising; strong professional and human resource skills who works well interdepartmentally; PC literate (Word and Excel); while the job is performed in English, a knowledge of French is a desirable asset.
