Flag Alberta

Alberta is fossil country. A visit to the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller is highly recommended. Petrified wood and agate can be found near Medicine Hat. There are a few mineral localities as well. The Willow Creek area near Nanton is known to produce excellent quality selenite crystals. Small amounts of Quartz have been found in the Donalda area. Restrictions on fossil collecting apply.
