Nancy Mehl is the Outreach Coordinator for a new program with The Salvation Army that ministers to the needs of the homebound. Her other passion is writing mystery novels. She has completed three novels and is hard at work on her fourth. Her third novel SINNERS SONG tells the story of Memrie Austin. Memrie works for Andrews House, an agency that helps the homeless. But when the homeless start dying, no one can find a way to stop the killings. The murderer, who calls himself The Deliverer is following in the footsteps of his infamous mother. The question is, will the murderer be caught before he "delivers" Memrie? SINNERS SONG will be released by St Kitts Press sometime in 2001. MALEVOLENCE, her current work in progress, is the frightening tale of Icy Curtis, who is emotionally shattered after her husbands murder in Chicago. She moves to Kansas with her ten-year-old son, Danny, hoping to start a new life. And find out who she really is now that she has to live without the love and support of the husband she adored. She unwittingly stumbles upon a strange and grisly murder, bringing back all the horror of her own husbands tragic death. Icy is pulled into the investigation by a police detective, impressed by her natural powers of observation. The question is, who or more exactly "what" is behind the awful murder. A centuries old monster who leaves his strange signature as a monument to his ghastly deeds will test everything Icy believes. Nancys freelance articles have been published in a variety of newspapers. She is under contract for two booklets NUTRITION FOR SENIORS and HOW TO MARKET YOUR MYSTERY with American Books. Both should be available later this year. She pens a monthly column entitled THE HISTORY OF MYSTERY for The Charlotte Austin Review. One of her short stories was published on The Writers Hood in January 2000, and another will appear in the August 2000 issue of Anotherealm. Her short story Milk Bottles was featured in The Charlotte Austin Review in March 2000. For more of Nancys writing credits, visit her own Web site . Reviewed by Nancy Mehl |
