"don't try" by Jason Gallagher I received a letter from the editor of a California based magazine to whom I had submitted work a few months earlier. the note said "I like your stuff but you read too much Bukowski find your voice and try us again" I spent the whole day thinking about what the editor wrote until I eventually agreed with his point. then I sat down to write my newest piece it's called 'screwing whores at the race track with whiskey bottles' i'm glad i've seen the light.
JASON GALLAGHER IS THE AUTHOR OF THREE CHAPBOOKS OF POETRY. HE LIVES AND WRITES IN MONTREAL, QUEBEC..
