I'm a bum

by Jason Gallagher

I met my girlfriend's father
he asked me questions about
my university degree
and what I was going to do
with my life,
which made me feel really uncomfortable
about dating his daughter.
then I think I really fucked things up
when I asked him
if he ever stares
at airplanes in the sky
and tries to use
psychic force
to make them explode.

JASON GALLAGHER IS THE AUTHOR OF THREE CHAPBOOKS OF POETRY. HE LIVES AND WRITES IN MONTREAL, QUEBEC..
