TDR Letter

April 12, 2004

Subject: Review of Elle by Lori Hahnel

I just finished Elle by Douglas Glover and found it fantastic. Great story, fabulous writing, humor, profoundly moving and lyrical passages (the birth of the fish baby), and I am a Mother in Law! Not even a young one.

I am also French from France and fascinated by Canadian and colonization history.

I am about to embark on further research to see if the character of “F” is based on Rabelais himself.
