2. A PUNCHY PLATEAU LAUNCH

3. PISTOL PRESS

This upstart Montreal press publishes its first anthology, Pistol. Writing by Sheila Heti, David McGimpsey, Elyse Friedman, Catherine Kidd and more, plus visual artists. [In Seinfeld voice] Who are these people? Intrigue and guffaws all over this one…

4. MATRIX MAGAZINE and PILOT READING SERIES

On June 12 at Main Hall, (3590 boul. St. Laurent) the city gets a glimpse at the future. It’s the SNARE BOOKS fall preview reading with Pasha Malla All our grandfathers are ghosts and Mike Spry JACK with special guests Ryan Knighton and Tony Robinson-Smith and music from Billy Fong Parade.

Also in June you can see the latest issue of Matrix (No. 80) hitting the shelves with the Gallows Humour dossier. The issue will include an interview (Heather O’Neill), fiction (Chandra Mayor) and poetry (Jordan Scott.) 

5. 2008 ROBERT KROETSCH AWARD FOR INNOVATIVE POETRY

Snare Books has announced the winner of the award and it is Geoffrey Hlibchuk. Snare will publish Hlibchuk's Variations on Hölderlin in the fall.
