WINDOW ALCOVE
WINDOW LEDGE 2
In my room
in my
self
there
is an ashtray.
It is made of clay and is from Russia.
Blue swirls interlace with white and black
a technique called feathering.
Russian cigarettes always taste stale
but their ashtrays are beautiful.
When in self exile
I sometimes balance
a
hand rolled cigarette
on the brink
the ash dribbling
across
a
pent-emblem
half-star half-flower.
