PLACEBO TOWEL
And then there's you
you
in your placebo towel
you so much like a
magical
curvaceous
spanner
wedged between
the crankshaft and a heartbeat
in the machinery of life and
me
lying here, curled
licking my lips over something
about you
which I can't quite taste
again its you
and your zest-like essence
so deliciously rare.
YOU-milking the highway for all its fruit
YOU-and your thumb
YOU-silking the highway with all your fruit
Digging the sky baby like it were you who made it
Kicking the tarmac like it were you who laid it
Fishing in the traffic for that hitch that says home.
Yeh that's you
that's how i remember you
a magically delicious
curvaceous spanner
draped in a placebo towel
cranked in the works
of the machinery of life.
