THE NEW KID
Their baseball team didn't do very much
All they had Sam, Pee Wee, Earl, and maybe Dutch
None of them could do a whole lot.
They were beat and kicked off the spot
Until one day when the New kid arrived.
The new kid came and didn't have to slide.
The new kid came in with a mitt and a bat
Even an official New York Yankee hat.
The New kid played first or even second base,
And could outrun them all in any race.
The kid never missed,
No matter how hard or how high.
Then when they were playing the league champs - just last week -
when the other team tried to beat their winning streak.
In the last inning, the score was one:one
when the new kid swung and hit a home run.
