Natural Resource Officer Recruit - RO3

Manitoba Conservation, Regional Operations, Various Locations throughout the Province.
Advertisement Number: 9128 Salary Range: $36,793 to $43,680 per year, plus
remoteness allowance where applicable. Closing Date: January 6, 2003.

Qualifications:
Candidates will be graduates from a recognized college in an approved Renewable Resource Management program with content including resource law enforcement and will have at least two years of related work experience.

Required qualifications:

Effective leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to deal effectively with co-workers, internal and external clients, including those of various cultural backgrounds and origins.
Proficient oral and written communication skills and the ability to input, apply and retrieve data using electronic systems.
Organizational, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to accept and adapt to frequent change.
Experience in law enforcement and legislative compliance.
The ability to work effectively in extreme environmental conditions and deal with hostile and stressful encounters.
A valid Class 4 driver’s licence, valid First Aid and C.P.R. certificates and Canadian Firearms Safety Certificate.
No criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted.

Duties:
As a member of a district team, you will be required to plan, organize, implement and supervise resource management, protection and compliance programs within an assigned area. Other key duties relate to staff supervision and protection of persons and property from wildlife damage, forest fires, floods and other environmental emergencies.
