INSTRUCTOR

Qualified applicants are being sought for a 2-year term position at the rank of Instructor I, II or Senior Instructor (depending on qualifications and experience) primarily in the Nurse Practitioner stream of the Master of Nursing Program at the Fort Garry Campus site.

POSITION:
The successful applicant will serve as course leader/preceptor in the academic development, delivery and evaluation of nurse practitioner courses of the Master of Nursing Program; maintain an active clinical practice; integrate scholarship into clinical and classroom teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and participate in professional and community organizations as appropriate. The successful applicant may be required to offer courses by various distance education modalities to Faculty of Nursing Program Sites throughout the province.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing required
• Completion of a recognized nurse practitioner program preferred
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
• Teaching experience at a university preferred
• Experience and background as a primary care nurse practitioner preferred
• Excellent communication and interaction skills
• Ability to foster collegial relationships with health care agencies
• Scholarly capabilities
