Self-Government, What's it like ?

Need feed back from First nations who have already signed Aboriginal self government agreements with Canada under section 35 of the canadian constitution.
The Band council at the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake is currantly trying to Impliment self- government under such legistlation. What i want to know is how did other first nations come to accept ASG ?, HOW DID YOUR COMMUNITY OR NATION RATIFY SUCH AN AGREEMENT ?.
What is it like now ? Need help real soon, with answers to theses questions.
