The NOR-MAN Regional Health Authority has entered into a one (1) year partnership agreement with Aboriginal and Northern Affairs and Manitoba Advanced Education and Training (Employment & Training Services Branch) for the Aboriginal Employment Strategy initiative.
Position Summary:
The Aboriginal Strategist will develop an Aboriginal Employment Plan for the NOR-MAN Regional Health Authority with the ultimate goal of increasing aboriginal representation in our workforce.Developing the plan will also include establishing relationships with external agencies and travel throughout the region to obtain demographic information
Qualifications:

Certificate program in Human Resources with a preference in Aboriginal
Studies (other combinations of education and experience may be considered)
·
Proficient in the operation of a personal computer (Microsoft Word, Excel)
·
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
·
Knowledge and familiarity with the aboriginal culture
·
Ability to work with minimal supervision
·
Knowledge of Aboriginal employment and training resources preferred
·
Demonstrated research skills
·
Current valid driver’s license
·
Ability to speak Cree is an asset
·
Previous experience in a health care setting is an asset
