i think that this is more than a discussion of our treaty rights. i believe that hunting is a core value of aboriginal people across this land. from the north to the south. i am not a traditional person by appearance but i believe that i carry a lot of the traditions in my heart. i hunt, i take of my family and i care about my community. the federal government has tried numerous times to destroy our culture and assimilate us into their world and this is just another attempt at making us even more dependant on them. i enjoy my internet and my satellite tv. and instead of a pony, i have 250 horses under the hood of my truck. we have managed to go with the flow whether we like it or not for this long. maybe now we should start standing our ground. if a "conservation officer" ( as if it is the land they care about, but the wallets of ottawa fat-cats ) tries to stop me from hunting and feeding my family, they better get ready to use their sidearm because i've had enough of white people telling me how to live my life. i am cree/ojibwe and i ready to start scalping these green suited bastards.
