: For those who think they will get accountability from the Indian Act or Self government Institutions. Think again, about what you are asking. you are in a state of animation. those who wish to take up the foriegn laws of the white man will have to realize that by doing so you must expect all the terrible way's such a society has to offer. As i have said before find your identity, the accountability is in all of us who follow the structures of our original societies. that's accountability. Peace, Power, Righteousness.
... Accountability perhaps may be pipe dream, but I believe that what you said it true that once First Nation people need to find their identity that does not correspond with the mainstream Canadian government. Canadian Mainstream government has done nothing to help First Nations people achieve there desires and needs. But I feel that First Nations people must get reconnected with their identities which include the orginal governance and the original laws. This is part of my ideologies that concern First Nations governance and determination. What concerns me is that many of the original ways have been eradicated and dismantled due to the foriegn institutions that dictate FN existance atevery waken moment of our lives. I may sound naive but I am still learning to strive in this poltical mess that has become the First Nation mainstream. To end off I want to conclude by saying, if we want to strive once again, I believe our aspirations are attainable, but without some guidence from the people who know the original ways, First Nations people will continue to allow themselves to be conquered and spit on by the dominant society.
