Burnt Church had been placed under Third Party Management recently...I guess they've been in a major deficit for more than four years now. The most perculiar thing about their situation is that they were working with Indian Affairs on a remedial plan and when they were to hear if their proposed plans were to be accepted by them or not, they were told that their band was being paced under a third party. Talk about a complete shock eh!!! Some people from the community beleive its an act of retaliation because of the confrontations over lobsters last summer and summers past.
But Indian Affairs contends that this isn't the case...what a crock.
Well, I don't know what to think about this situation except to say that it's too bad and I hope they get their books figured out soon.
