Summer Work Program – Team Leader
July 2 to August 29
Transition, Education and Resources for Females (TERF)The TERF program is one of the many programs of New Directions. TERF provides a supportive healing environment for women and transgender individuals ages 13 and up who have been exploited through prostitution. TERF requires a Team Leader to work with our students in our Summer Work Program which is funded through the Urban Green Team.
Interested individuals must be students under the age of 25 and currently enrolled in and returning to school in the fall. Experience working with children and youth within a recreational and/or childcare setting is an asset. An understanding and knowledge of issues related to exploitation through prostitution is beneficial. Knowledge and sensitivity to Aboriginal Culture and inclusive of Multi-Cultural beliefs and lifestyles is also an asset.
To better reflect the diversity of the TERF participants, preference will be given to qualified Experiential and Aboriginal applicants.

(Full Time — TERF Youth Program)TERF requires a full time support facilitator for the adult program. Responsibilities will include providing one/one support, attending various appointments with participants, facilitating and participating in outings and record keeping.

• have previous experience working with people who have been marginalized and exploited
• have related courses in child and youth care or social work
• be knowledgeable and sensitive to Aboriginal Culture and Traditions and be inclusive
of multi-cultural beliefs and lifestyles.
• be able to work evenings and weekends

.4 Position (mornings)In partnership with Winnipeg Technical College and Horizons Learning Centres, TERF requires a classroom instructor for the adult program. Responsibilities for the position would include: instruction/facilitation in the areas of Family Studies, Effective Parenting and Foundations for Healthy Living; curriculum development; preparation of evaluation reports; and assessment.
Applicants should have:
• An education degree and experience working with adults in alternative education
• Knowledge of the issues associated with sexual exploitation
• Demonstrated knowledge, awareness and sensitivity to Aboriginal Culture, and
be inclusive of multi-cultural beliefs and lifestyles
