Executive Director, non-governmental organization (ngo)

Terms of Employment are Permanent, Full Time
Salary is to be negotiated
Anticipated start date is as soon as is possible
Location is Norway House Manitoba (1 vacancy)

Skill Requirements:

Education: Administrative/Management Education

Experience: 3 to 6 years

Languages: Speak English, read and write English

Other: The ability to speak an Aboriginal Language would be an asset

Generic Skills: Computer use (ex. Use software packages; knowledge of hardware; work with computer-operated machinery), Writing skills (ex. Enter information on forms; write to inform, persuade or analyze) Reading skills (ex. Follow written directions; interpret documents like charts, maps; acquire specialized knowledge), Working with others (ex, work with individual or team; build consensus) Problem solving skills (ex. Identify problems/causes; determine steps to resolve; assess solution), Speaking and Listening Skills (ex, communicate clearly and effectively; follow directions; mediate disputes)

Other information: Possess degree from a recognized university in addictions, social work or psychology combined with 5 yrs directly relevant clinical & management experience. Group therapy & knowledge of the Child & Family Services Act & Regulations, must also have an additional 5 yrs exp. In administration/management; interpersonal/communication skills/expertise in holistic treatment models; acute awareness of problems unique to First Nations & the ability to empathize with the clients.
