You have a good angle here. I think there are a lot of tax free bank accounts in Winnipeg.
There are a number of excellent business consultants in Winnipeg
who could help you out. Winnipeg is known as a place with a great many
knowledgeable Indian business people. Don Courchene is one that comes to mind.
Stan Bear, E.J. Fontaine are others who have all the contacts.
Seek and you shall find advice. I cannot say that it will be free however.
I myself am white and work in white circles but I have heard of these guys.

: Hi everyone !
: I need a little advice from anyone who reads this: I've been working with Investors Group, a financial planning company for a few years now, and one of the things I've wanted to start doing is free financial planning seminars for First Nations people.
: I've been speaking with a few of my family members on my girlfriend's side from Split as well as a lady at MIEA for a little direction and advice. I'm also going to try to get some info at the Aboriginal Center of Winnipeg as well in order to try to set things up. Basically, I'm trying to organize places to hold these seminars as well as places to advertise the seminars. They don't necessarily have to be big, I'm just trying to help out in the community.
: While I do see some financial companies with small advertisements in Aboriginal newspapers, overall the effort towards helping First Nations people (by financial companies)is very small and its something I would like to change. This is something I feel very strongly about this so if anyone has some good input, please let me know. Constructive criticism is also good. Thank you.
