Public Health Nurse

The Wasagamack Health Authority was established several years ago by the Wasagamack First Nation, and has a mandate to improve community health conditions. The community is engaging in a progressive change process and program expansion, which this year includes the start up of Public Health and Home Care services. The Health Authority requires a nurse to work with other community health workers in establishing a good Public Health Nursing service.
The Health Authority is looking for an innovative individual eligible for licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba and is seeking a challenging, creative work opportunity. The position will entail all the traditional Public Health Nursing services such as immunizations, communicable disease control, promoting and maintaining the health of at-risk individuals and families, disease/injury prevention and health teachings. It will also involve initiating other creative public health programs to make our community an even healthier place to live.

We offer:
· A competitive salary;
· Housing and relocation assistance;
· A modern office/clinical assistance;
· A welcoming health services team and community; and
· Support from the Four Arrows Regional Health Authority and nursing colleagues in the nearby other Island Lake communities.
