Speech Language Pathologist
St. Joseph's Care Group in Thunder Bay is a recognized leader in Northwestern Ontario in the provision of complex continuing care, rehabilitation and long term care services. The Care Group operates on a program management model, providing client-centred services with an emphasis on interdisciplinary teamwork and evidence-based practice. The Care Group is currently recruiting a temporary full-time Speech Language Pathologist (from September 2003 to September 2004) to provide speech and language services to children within the school system.
The Speech Language Pathologists in the school system are involved in providing both direct and consultative services to children, their families and school personnel. This position offers opportunities for self-direction, creativity, teamwork, supervision and community education. The successful candidate would join twelve other Speech-Language Pathologists, each providing a variety of services in the hospital and community.
Qualifications include a Master's degree in Communication Disorders and registration with CASLPO. Experience with the school-aged population as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required. The use of a vehicle is required with a travel allowance provided. A second language would be an asset.
