Biko Agozino
Biko has completed a Ph.D dissertation
on "Black Women and the Criminal Justice System" in the Faculty of Law at the
University of Edinburgh. He obtained a B.Sc. honours in Sociology from the University
of Calabar and an M.Phil in Criminology from the University of Cambridge.

Surekha and Prasad Akella
Surekha and
Prasad are in Japan on a two year sojourn from their home in the US. Surekha is a
Pharmacologist between a Master's and a Ph.D.; she is masquerading as an English
teacher in Japan. Prasad is a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford and is
working on the control of robots at MITI's National Mechanical Engineering Laboratory.
Their common interests include people, photography and international travel. For the
next few months, they will report on life in Japan, as viewed through the eyes of
Indian-Americans.

Kent Barrett
Kent is a Vancouver artist with over
twenty years experience in photography. His work has been exhibited in galleries across
Canada from Vancouver to St. John's, Newfoundland. He is currently working on his first
nonfiction book "Bitumen to Bitmap", a history of photographic processes.

Paul Chapman
Originally born in England, Paul moved
to Vancouver at age 9 and quickly realized his parents had made the right choice.
Although he loves Vancouver, his work as a reporter and editor has given him the desire
to work in other countries around the world which he will hopefully accomplish once the
economy picks up.
Martin Charette
Martin did one year at the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada) and
decided to start its own business: Qad Software. He felt that the school was not
giving him what he wanted and needed. He will go back when he is going to be
ready but for now on is working for himself.

Ryan Crocker
Ryan is a Vancouver actor, writer,
director, and general mouthpiece. He has worked in Vancouver, Victoria, and Los
Angeles. His resume looks like a parts list for an aircraft carrier -- long and varied.
He enjoys good friends, conversation, and playing with his pet iguana, Isis.
Richard Cumyn
Richard Cumyn is the author of The Limit of Delta Y Over Delta X
(Goose Lane Editions, 1994) a collection of short stories that includes
"Anyone for Anything." His fiction has appeared in many Canadian and
American publications, most recently The Journey Prize Anthology VI
(McClelland and Stewart), The Grand-Slam Book of Canadian Baseball Writing
(Pottersfield Press), The New Quarterly, NeWest Review, Zygote,
The Blue Penny Review, and
InterText. He writes from
Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Tom Davis
Tom is a wine maker who lives and works in
Vancouver, Canada. A former brewmaster, a painter and amateur (in the truest sense)
film maker. Currently a Philosophy undergraduate at Simon Fraser University, Tom seeks
to start his own vineyard.

Prasad Dharmasena
Prasad is a Solid State
Electrical Engineer turned into a C++ programmer who works at the Federal Reserve Board
in Washington, DC. He has been known to take decent photographs when the phase of the
moon is right. Though he was born in Sri Lanka, he cannot play Cricket. He enjoys
playing Frisbee beside his favorite temple, the Lincoln Memorial.

Ken Eisner
Originally from the San Francisco area, Ken
Eisner is a Contributing Editor to Vancouver's entertainment weekly, the
Georgia Straight, and Canadian correspondent/film critic for
Variety, in Los Angeles. He has also been a frequent arts
commentator on CBC TV and radio, and currently reviews new
movies for CKNW, throughout Western Canada.

Sheila Eldred
Currently studying English at Oxford University, Sheila will return to the
U.S. in July to continue her undergraduate education at the College
of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. She has been a runner for six years, and runs
both cross-country and track for her college teams. At Oxford she has also been
rowing with a novice team, but she is still a runner at heart.

Ken Ewing is a senior technical writer
at Sequent Computers Systems, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon. He is a life-long
resident of the Pacific Northwest, a graduate of Eastern
Oregon State College, and in addition to travel, has deep
interests in philosophy, theology, psychology, and history.

David Fitzjarrell
Dave lives in West Jordan, Utah. He is 41, enjoys writing,
backpacking, chess, snowboarding and mountain biking. He has
a minor in French, he has almost completed a BS in Physics,
and he works at the Post Office. Dave claims to enjoy
Teletimes "in the extreme" and has had a chance to
contribute a wonderful piece of creative writing for the
February '94 issue.
Jon Gould
Jon teaches law and political science at
both DePaul University's International Human Rights Law Institute and Beloit College.
He is a former counsel to the Dukakis-Bentsen Campaign and has served as General
Counsel to the College Democrats of America and Vote for a Change.
Paul L. Gribble
Born in South Africa and raised in Vancouver, B.C., Paul is now living in
Montreal where he is a graduate student studying motor control at McGill
University. He enjoys photography, swimming, travelling, writing, and avoiding
his thesis.

Jay Hipps
Jay Hipps is a freelance writer based in
Northern California. He also writes, edits, and designs "Petaluma

Anand Mani
Anand is a Vancouver, Canada-based
corporate communications consultant serving an international clientele. Originally an
airbrush artist, his painting equipment has been languishing in a closet, replaced by
the Mac. It waits for the day when "that idea" grips him by the throat, breathily says,
"Paint Me" and drags him into the studio -- not to be seen for months.

Michael is a devoted student
to coffee houses and late night studying for a major in Criminal Justice at the
University of Illinois at Chicago. He hopes to attend Law School next year. Michael's

Brian is a Counselor the Illinois
Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, Illinois who has been utilizing his free
time to document the lives of street children in Guatemala. His photographs have
appeared in NACLA, The Boston Globe and on the AP wire and in other publications.

Madurai G. Sriram
Madurai does systems and
applications development in the School of Medicine at Ohio State U. Not content
with the pain of three masters degrees (Electrical Engineering,
Statistics, and Computer Science) He is also trying to
complete a Ph.D. in CS. Hobbies include music, scuba, and
foreign languages -- Madurai has a working knowledge of
Brazilian Portuguese. After his Ph.D., Madurai hopes to get
a job which will enable him to travel a lot!

Dr. Euan R. Taylor
Euan grew up in England where
he did a degree in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. Before moving to Canada, Euan spent 6
months traveling in Asia. Now living in Winnipeg, he is doing research in plant
molecular biology, and waiting to start Law School. Interests include writing, travel,
studying Spanish and Chinese, career changing and good coffee. Pet peeves: weak coffee,
wet socks and ironing.

Massachusetts, Seth Theriault is currently a student at Washington University in St.

Marc was born in 1967 in Ekatirenburg and was emmigrated perforce to Israel in
1976. Now resigned to his fate he lives in Jerusalem and studies Structural
Linguistics, after a brief and inconclusive romance with Computer Science. Likes

Originally from New Brunswick, Alexander Varty is the Arts
Editor for the Georgia Straight, Vancouver's entertainment
weekly, and he's been known to twang an evil guitar with
Chris Houston and other po-mo rockers.

Ian Wojtowicz
Ian is currently enrolled in the International Baccalaurate program at a
Vancouver high school. His interests include fencing, playing a bit of jazz
guitar, running Teletimes and -- above all -- sleeping in. He was born in 1977
in the lovely Atlantic Canadian city of Halifax. He has since lived in Nigeria,
Hong Kong and Ottawa and travelled with his parents to numerous other places.
