II. The Delirium of Uselessness
"If we closed the hockey arena, then there'd be...riots in the street."
-Alaska Highway News, Sept. 15, 1999
It is probably common knowledge that this project
was to bring untold wealth and prosperity to the region.
Words hazy and inflated through centuries of exaggerated feeling,
based primarily on the oil and gas industry,
a climate of drunkenness, brutality and degradation.
He
sits up nights brooding everything that is the case,
the
idiocy of rural life,
all
about animals as persons,
words
which make coffins break loose and walk off;
searching
for a christ who smiles,
happy
teaching without pupils
able
to enjoy shopping malls.
After
all, he doesn't just belong to the Christians anymore
Says
he to whom no-one is listening
of
whereof one cannot speak
