III.

WHAT YOU ARE

You are the blue sky,
you are the birds in flight,
you are the river flowing beneath its bridges.

At dawn I wander along your shorelines,
at noon I bask in the warm rays of your shining,
at midnight I dance beneath the vast radiance of your stars.

The world was empty, a vast loneliness,
and I wandered broken beneath the sun and moon.
You startled me back into life, lifted me up
with the delicate power of your kisses,
spread your wings and taught me flight.

You are the yellow sun, blinding me,
you are the green buds announcing spring,
you are the naked full moon, rising.
