Author Biographies



Kathryn Berthelson 
Kathryn Berthelsen is currently completing a MSc in Creative Writing at University of Edinburgh, where she is writing a collection of poetry about Rosslyn Chapel in the Scottish Borders. Ms. Berthelsen has an abiding interest in both literature and Jungian thought, and studies them in parallel to enrich her understanding of both fields. In addition to her work as a full-time poet, she is researching the relationship between world mysticism and the work of Michael Ende. 

Austin Clarkson (M.A., Eastman School of Music; Ph.D., Columbia) is emeritus professor of music (York University). Previous appointments at Columbia University and Yale University. General editor of the music and writings of the composer Stefan Wolpe. Editor of On the Music of Stefan Wolpe: Essays and Recollections (Pendragon Press). Research and teaching on the creative imagination led to the design of the exhibit, Exploring a Painting in Depth (since 1993); the formation of a class of students into The Milkweed Collective; a volume titled The Intelligence of the Imagination: Personal Stories of the Creative Process, co-authored with twelve members of the Collective. 

Darrell Dobson (M.Ed., University of Toronto; Ph.D. Candidate, University of Toronto).  Darrell Dobson's work focuses on transformative learning, specifically on aesthetic experience and analytical psychology as modes of personal and professional development in the lives of educators. He lives in the Canadian woods with his wife and son. 

Matthew Fike received a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1988 and served as a founding faculty member of the American University in Bulgaria during most of the 1990s. His publications include numerous articles on British and American literature as well as a book entitled Spenser’s Underworld in the 1590 “Faerie Queene”. He is currently an associate professor of English at Winthrop University in South Carolina, USA.
