Telework, a Chance and a Challenge for Europe

This conference takes place on June 26-28, 1996 in Luxemburg. The conference takes place under the umbrella of a global policy of the European Commission (EC) concerning the consequences of and prospects generated by the emergence of telework.

The organizers and the EC are expecting new conclusions from this meeting about the future of telework and its prospects of growth as well as recommendations concerning the harmonization of the economic, social, legal and regulatory measures to bring into play. The conference will include a wide range of views on telework from business, trade unions, politicians and social activists.

Telecommute '96

Gil Gordon's annual telecommuting conference will be held October 27-31 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The agenda for the conference is just being finalized. Telework International has received the early version of the agenda and it looks impressive. The following are a few of the topics:

In addition to these worthwhile session Gil has also arranged several impressive keynote speakers. Mike Brill, head of the Buffalo Organization for Social and Technological Innovation (BOSTI) will address "The Telecommuting/Alternative Officing Snakepit." Lester Ray, Technology Director for the South Brunswick, New Jersey school district and recent winner of Apple Computer's Distinguished Educator award will present a keynote entitled: "Look Out! Techno-Teens Are Coming to a Workplace Near You!"

Gil's telework conference is certainly one of the best in North America. If you can only go to one conference a year this one may be for you.
