Northern Secretariat (Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Yukon)

PHAC's Northern Secretariat provides a single-window approach for delivery of health programs - including ACAP - in Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and Yukon. The single-window approach aims to integrate, streamline and enhance federal health policies, processes and programs in the territories.

-> ACAP Funding in Nunavut

Recent examples of ACAP funding initiatives in Nunavut include support for a sexual health symposium held in Iqaluit in February 2006. About 25 delegates from across Nunavut, together with two delegates from Labrador (funded by Health Canada), met with health officials and experts to build capacity, mobilize communities and share ideas about how to address HIV and hepatitis C within the northern reality.

ACAP has also supported Nunavut's toll-free sexual health information line. Funding was provided to train volunteers, coordinate scheduling and advertise the line in all communities across Nunavut.
