While the flu vaccine is suggested for all children, it is particularly recommended for children aged 6- 23 months as they are more likely to be hospitalized with complications from influenza.

If your child is considered to be at high risk of complications from influenza (if they have heart or lung problems [like cystic fibrosis or asthma]: a chronic condition like diabetes; or have to be treated for long periods of time with aspirin), talk to your doctor about whether a flu shot is right for your child.
