Innovation Strategy

Solicitation: Achieving Healthier Weights in Canada’s Communities (Phase 1) Spring 2010

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is seeking proposals for Phase I of the Innovation Strategy's second cycle solicitation entitled “Achieving Healthier Weights in Canada’s Communities”.  This second cycle of solicitation will focus on the promotion of healthy weights and the prevention of overweight and obesity, with an emphasis on actions that will contribute to the reduction of health inequalities.  The main objective of this theme is to develop and implement more effective action on the underlying factors, conditions and skills that enable individuals and create supportive environments. The three priority areas of focus are:

  • Strengthening Enabling Factors for Children and Youth
  • Creating Supportive Workplaces for Canadians
  • Building Healthier Conditions for Rural, Remote and Northern Communities

This is an open solicitation and all proposals are due July 12, 2010.
