A marketing survey done on behalf of IRC has revealed a high level of client satisfaction both with IRC's research services and the evaluation services run by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC).
Jim Nolen, head of IRC's Industry Collaboration Branch, said, however, that while the results were "extremely positive," some problems were uncovered. "We found that our clients felt we had excellent people, good facilities, and a good understanding of their business.
"While the majority of respondents were satisfied, some did complain about the timing of invoices, delays in issuing reports, and the availability of project status information. We're taking steps to rectify those problems."
Despite these few complaints, the survey turned out to be "a very positive experience," he said.
The poll was conducted by telephone interview last spring by Ekos Research Associates Inc. Several hundred clients were called, Nolen said.
"We intend to continue such polling every year or two," he said, "and we also intend to ask clients, contract by contract, if they're pleased with the over-all product. In particular, we want to ask them if they're happy with our performance in the areas where they told us we should improve.
