Alberta Labour has announced that the Alberta Building Code 1997 and the Alberta Fire Code 1997 have taken effect, as of June 1, 1998. The new Codes, which are based on the latest editions of the National Building and Fire Codes, replace the Alberta Building Code 1990 and the Alberta Fire Code 1992. Both Codes are available in printed and CD-ROM formats.
