National Youth Justice Policing Award
The Department of Justice Canada (DOJ), in collaboration with the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), is pleased to present the Minister of Justice National Youth Justice Policing Award. The Award recognizes innovative approaches to using provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act while dealing with youth in conflict with the law. It celebrates excellence in police responses to youth crime by all sworn police officers from federal, provincial, municipal, military and railway police services in Canada.
Nominations for the Minister of Justice National Youth Justice Policing Award 2012 are now closed. The winner of the 2012 Award was announced on August 19th, 2012 at the opening ceremonies of the CACP Annual Conference in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Minister of Justice Announces Winner of the 2012 National Youth Justice Policing Award
SYDNEY, NS, August 19, 2012 - The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls and Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, today presented The Prince Albert Police Service's Community Mobilization Prince Albert program with this year's Minister of Justice National Youth Justice Policing Award.
