FEDERAL COURT OF APPEAL JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED

OTTAWA, October 5, 2012 — The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, today announced the following appointment:

The Honourable Wyman W. Webb, a judge with the Tax Court of Canada, is appointed a Judge of the Federal Court of Appeal, to replace Madam Justice C. Layden-Stevenson, who passed away on June 27, 2012.

Mr. Justice Webb received a Bachelor of Science from Mount Allison University in 1978. He received a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University in 1982. He was admitted to the Bar of Nova Scotia in 1982.

Prior to his appointment as a judge of the Tax Court of Canada in 2006, Mr. Justice Webb had been a partner with Patterson Law since 1982. His main areas of practice were national tax law, commercial law and tax litigation.

Mr. Justice Webb was a former Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation and lecturer of tax law at Dalhousie Law School.

This appointment is effective immediately.
