It came as a surprise to many when the Literary Review of Canada listed Geological Survey of Canada: Report of Progress from Its Commencement to 1863 as one of the 100 most important Canadian books ever written. Although considered a work that "changed our country's psychic landscape," according to the Literary Review, you will not find it in your local bookstore. Fortunately, LAC has brought that work to life in Written in Stone. This virtual exhibition profiles the life of William E.
