Library and Archives Canada Joins the Pack

EuGENEus joins the Scouts Source

The Canadian Genealogy Centre (CGC) has partnered with Scouts Canada and the Association des Scouts du Canada to develop an online project for young Cub Scouts. It is a set of genealogical research activities that Cubs complete to earn a badge specific to each association.

EuGENEus, the Galactic Genealogical Genius, guides young Cubs through various tasks online, helping them to earn a speciality badge or communications badge and certificate.

This partnership enables Library and Archives Canada to fulfill the CGC's mission, which is to promote the discovery of our roots and family histories as a basic part of Canadian heritage, and to encourage the use of genealogy and resources available in libraries and archives as tools for lifelong learning.

By working with the Scouts, Library and Archives Canada becomes more relevant to young Canadians, establishing itself once more as a source of knowledge that is accessible to all.
