The Library and Archives Canada Management Board

Peter Levick

Peter Levick was appointed Director General of the Communications Office at Library and Archives Canada on August 7, 2006.

Mr. Levick has very broad public and private sector experience. His specific areas of expertise include marketing, strategic communications, Web and new media management, partnerships, stakeholder relations and public consultations.

Prior to joining LAC, Mr. Levick was Director, External Relations for Parks Canada, where he was responsible, among other things, for corporate identity, partnership programs, market research, and national customer information services. In 2001-2002, he managed the Partnership Program for the G8 Summit held in Kananaskis, Alberta. He also worked as senior counselor with an international public affairs firm and has led projects with national clients in health care, labour market and international affairs sectors. From 1989 to 2000, he worked as Director, Marketing and Outreach for the National Capital Commission, where he initiated many successful collaborative programs, forming effective partnerships among government agencies, as well as with the not-for profit, volunteer and private sectors.

Mr. Levick holds a bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Integratred Science Studies from Carleton University.
