Advocacy

The arts play an impor­tant role in in the vital­ity of our cities by unit­ing diverse com­mu­ni­ties and fos­ter­ing social well-being. For these rea­sons and more, the CCA often engages the fed­eral gov­ern­ment, and, on occa­sion, provin­cial gov­ern­ments, to rep­re­sent its mem­bers views on impor­tant pol­icy issues and to push for sus­tained sup­port for the arts, cul­ture and her­itage sector.

The CCA par­tic­i­pates reg­u­larly in con­sul­ta­tions and meets with fed­eral offi­cials in the Ottawa area on behalf of its membership. It is equally impor­tant that the CCA’s mem­bers and the public-at-large have the resources to advo­cate for the arts in their respec­tive com­mu­ni­ties.
