Newcap Creates PSAs, and News Items to Promote 60th Anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights
Mike Keller was so inspired by a few words in a letter to his employer, Newcap Broadcasting, that he convinced management to support the creation of PSAs and TV items to explain the importance of marking December 10, 2008 as the 60th anniversary of the passage of the human rights declaration. The letter, from the Canadian Human Rights Commission, said the declaration recognizes “human rights as the foundation of peace, justice, and freedom in the world.” Newcap worked with the Commission to produce two PSAs that aired this week, with each of the company’s 70 radio stations providing airtime at no charge. The company’s two Alberta TV stations produced news items which aired on December 10, and many of the radio and TV facilities will be displaying copies of the Canadian Charter of Rights. Mr. Keller concludes that, “We live in a great country and in our business, I feel we have a responsibility to reinforce that whenever we can.” |

service

excellent coverage at: http://www.broadcastdialogue.
