Canada's Private Broadcasters vie for Gold

OTTAWA, October 18, 2000 – Twenty-nine radio stations, 20 television stations and seven specialty channels are in the running for 26 of private broadcasting's prestigious Gold Ribbon awards for best in news, programming, promotion, on-line activities and community service categories, the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB) announced today.

Finalists' entries ranged from compelling news coverage of riots and tornados, to promoting emerging homegrown talent, and countless fundraising events.
