Canada's Digital Collections is one of the largest sources of Canadian content
on the Internet. More than 600 collections are available, celebrating Canada's
history, geography, science, technology and culture.
These fascinating Web sites range from treasures of federal institutions,
such as the National Library of Canada, the National Archives of Canada
and the Canadian Museum of Civilization, to the local histories and way
of life of Canadian communities. The subjects covered range from science
and discovery though literature, history and heritage. Many of the collections
include learning materials and interactive games.
All digital collections were created by Canadian youth, as part of the
Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy. From 1996 to 2003, Canada's
Digital Collections employed thousands of young people to create digital
collections. The program is no longer seeking proposals.
