Physical Description: One mahogany framed bedstead. Arched foot board with moulded top rail and arched head board with decorative carved moulding ornamenting central area. Straight side posts form legs fitted with castors. Side railings, fitted scrolled bracket at each end ornamented with carved foliage. Bed fitted with box spring and mattress used by Madge Hamilton.
History of Use: Belonged to Mrs. Richard Carr, reported that Emily Carr was born in this bed. Acquired by Madge Hamilton who had the bed cut down in size. Appraised by Mr. E. Norwood, Private Appraiser, 536 Whiteside Street, Victoria, BC at $6,500.00.
