Industry

Industry in the Mississagi Valley is derived from natural resources. Forestry is most prominent in the area, an integral part of its history. Mining has been less influential. The mighty Mississagi itself supports four hydro-electric dams. The tourism industry in the area is healthy, and allows residents to share with others the natural beauty of the area. The purpose of this section is to give an outline of the development of industry in the region and the influence this has had on the people who live there.
